Connect to the Probe server (VPN)

Probe is reached over a secure WireGuard VPN tunnel. The tunnel connects your computer to the Probe server and nothing else. The rest of your internet traffic is unaffected and continues to use your normal connection. This is a one-time setup and takes about five minutes.

Before you start

You will receive a personal configuration file by email, named something like WG-company-name-1.conf. Each file belongs to one person and one computer. Do not share or copy it between machines.

Two things your IT department may need to know:

  • Installing the WireGuard client requires local administrator rights, once.

  • Your network must allow outbound UDP to vpn.esharp.se on port 51822. Networks that only allow ports 80 and 443 outbound will block the connection. Nothing else needs to be opened, and no inbound access is required.

Instructions

  1. Download and install the WireGuard client from wireguard.com/install. Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android are supported.

  2. Open WireGuard and choose Add Tunnel → Import tunnel(s) from file.

  3. Select the .conf file you received.

  4. Select the tunnel in the list and click Activate.

There is no username or password. Everything needed is inside the configuration file.

Check that it works

With the tunnel active, open a browser and go to:

http://10.102.0.10:8010/viewer.html

If the Probe viewer loads, the VPN is working. Continue with Connect Claude CLI to Probe.

Click Deactivate in WireGuard when you are done for the day, or leave it connected. It uses no bandwidth when idle.

How the tunnel is secured

  • The configuration file holds a personal key. There is no shared password.

  • The tunnel only routes traffic to the Probe server. Your computer cannot reach anything else on E-Sharp's network through it, and nothing can reach your computer through it.

  • The Probe server has a private address and is not exposed to the public internet.
